We are doing things a little differently this month! Our Athlete of the Month has multiplied and after reading this blog, you will understand why….
Each month, we like to feature someone that has put in a little extra or someone that we may see trying a little harder to accomplish goals and make things happen! Well, there was no question this month…. until we realized there was a choice to make. So, instead of making a choice, we decided to have 2 (actually 3) Athlete’s of the Month!
Ed and Timmy Kerrigan have been putting in so much work and so much dedication to their training! Endurance guys at heart, I have the pleasure of having them every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7am for Endurance as well Kristin’s Sunday Endurance and various night time classes and weekends! Sometimes, we will catch them double wodding so they can get some lifting in too! This father and son duo is so inspiring but we can’t leave out number 3! None of this would have happened if it weren’t for the youngest of the crew – Aidan! Aidan has been doing CrossFit Kids at MCCF for a while and got his dad who, in turn, got his other son hooked! What an awesome chain reaction!
I asked Ed to fill me in on some of the details of how their MCCF journey all began. Here is what he had to say…
“Initially, Aidan signed up for some after school Cross Fit classes at Mile Creek Elementary School…Midcoast was instructing. He loved it and couldn’t wait to do more! He received a gift certificate for Christmas from his Uncle Jerry (Nolan) for some classes and couldn’t wait to go with his uncle when he visited from Florida. He is excited to come and work out each time! After bringing Aidan 2 times each week for months, I finally took the plunge and decided to join after lots of encouragement from the trainers at Midcoast. My journey hasn’t always been pretty, but feeling stronger and healthier each time has been great motivation. When my oldest son, Tim, came home from college, he wanted to join the party and thought it would be a great way to get healthy. His confidence and motivation have increased enormously and I’m proud of him for sticking with it.
