This months Athlete of the Month has a determined attitude and an unbreakable spirit. She has been stepping up her game and the word quit doesn’t fall in her vocabulary! Congratulations to Kai, who has not only been lifting heavy but has been putting in the time on her gymnastic work lately and it is showing!
Kai recently got T2B and Double Unders. This girl doesn’t just get her movements down, she puts them to work immediately. Last week we programmed Triple 3 – 3000 Meter row, 300 Double Unders, 3 Mile Run. Forget about how long this WOD takes, Kai decided to not only do it but to forget the singles and go for the 300 DU’s instead! Did I mention she just got them!? This physical and mental grit is exactly what makes Kai our August Athlete of the Month!
We asked Kai a bit about her fitness journey with MCCF and here is what she had to say….
“I came to MidCoast because of two very cool friends, Emily & Hadley. I had been in a rut training for half marathons and needed something different. They invited me to a 9am class and I never looked back, mostly because I was sore all over which made it difficult to do anything except for wait until the next workout!
