I am so excited to bring you this heartwarming news. MCCF has adopted a family.
Last week, I got a message from one of our athletes, Chris Cirilli, who wanted to give back this holiday season. He thought that with the amazing, giving community we have, perhaps his mission to give back could be even greater. Chris asked me if I thought MCCF could sponsor the family that he wanted to “adopt” and there wasn’t a question. I am so happy he thought of us to help him make a family’s holiday season brighter.
So this is where all of you come in.
The Salvation Army has given us the names of a mother and her seven children ranging in age from 4 months to 14 years. We have a list of things that the kids want as well as a list of the things that the family needs. Chris was nice enough to bring in a Christmas tree and we met at the box tonight to put it up. We are working on ornaments and the first round of them will be hung on the tree early tomorrow morning when we open up. Some of these will have the child’s age and wish on them, some of them will have things that the family could use on them including any sizes for clothing. You are welcome to take an ornament (or as many as you’d like) and buy the gift that is on the ornament then wrap it and put it under the tree. All gifts MUST be in by Friday, December 18th as they will be delivered that weekend.
Chris, the holiday’s are a time for giving, caring and showing kindness. You are a true testament to the Holiday Spirit. Thank you for thinking of MCCF. We have come together many times in the past to help those in need and I promise that the spirit of the season is within us all. We are going to give this family a beautiful Christmas.
