Mada & Cirilli Throwdown Cancer!

We had two incredible athletes go out this past Saturday to compete at Shoreline CrossFit in the Throwdown Cancer competition. This was nothing new to Chris Mada as he has competed in a bunch of competitions which made him the perfect partner for Chris Cirilli, who was competing for the very first time! In a conversation that I had with both of them, they said that all the judges and volunteers were very welcoming and that the comp was a great one from start to finish. The day included 7- 3 minute WOD’s with an 8th WOD at the very end. They did the scaled division and had some great competition with each being a sprint to the finish. They actually tied for first place in WOD # 6! The day looked like this:

Workout #1
3 Min To Complete:
50 Partner Wall Balls 20/14
AMRAP Toes To Bar in Remaining Time
Scaled: Wall Balls @ 14/8 & Ab-Mat Sit Ups

Workout #2
3 Min To Complete:
AMRAP Clean & Jerks @185/125
Scaled: Clean and Jerks @ 115/75

Workout #3
3 Min To Complete:
50 Calorie Partner Row
AMRAP Burpees Over Erg in Remaining Time
Scaled: 30 Calories & Step Overs Allowed on Burpees

Workout #4
3 Min To Complete:
15-10-5 of: Deadlift @ 275/185
Box Jump Over @30/24″
Partner A completes 15 deadlifts
partner B completes 15 deadlifts.
Partner A completes 15 box jump overs
partner B completes 15 box jump overs etc…
Scaled: Deadlifts @ 165/115 & Step Overs Allowed @ 24/20”

Workout #5:
3 Min AMRAP:
5 Hang Power Snatches @ 115/80
5 Handstand Push Ups
Each partner must complete a full round before switching
Scaled: Hang Power Snatches @ 75/55 & HR Push Ups

Workout #6
3 Min AMRAP:
25 M Farmers Carry 100/70 each hand
25 Double Unders
Each partner must complete a full round before switching
Scaled: Farmers Carrys @ 53/35 and Single Unders

Workout #7
3 Min To Complete:
15-10-5 Thrusters @ 115/75 Pull Ups
Partner A completes 15 thrusters
partner B completes 15 thrusters.
Partner A completes 15 pull ups overs
partner B completes 15 5 pull ups etc…
Scaled: Thrusters @ 65/45 & Kettlebell Swings @ 35/25

FINAL WOD
400 Meter Run
50 Back Squats @ 95

As you can see, they definitely had their work cut out for them and work they did! We could not be more proud of both of these guys! Congratulations on your very impressive performances, you earned that beer!
